Privacy Policy

What 5Drive collects, how we use it, and how to ask for access, correction, or deletion. We don't sell your information or use it for ads.

In plain English
  • We don't sell your information. We don't run ads.
  • We collect what's needed to run the course, verify your purchase, and mail your completion certificate.
  • Progress and account details are never shared for marketing.

Questions about this policy go to support@5drivedriversed.com. We aim to respond within 2 business days.

What we collect

We collect information needed to provide the course, verify paid access, support recovery, process certificates, send requested updates, and protect the service.

Profile and contact information
Name, email, date of birth, mailing address, anonymous profile ID, device ID, and support IDs. Used for recovery, support, certificates, and app features.
Course, quiz, and exam activity
Chapter progress, Knowledge Checks, quiz and final exam results, scores, and certificate eligibility. Stored on device and synced to the backend when configured.
Payments and entitlements
Purchases go through the Apple App Store or Google Play. 5Drive never collects or stores card numbers. Purchase, restore, and entitlement status may pass through Apple, Google, a purchase validation service, and our backend so paid access works.
Notifications and announcements
Notification preferences, push tokens, device/platform metadata, and in-app announcement state. Used only for course, certificate, account, or announcement messages you can control in settings.
Support, recovery, and privacy requests
Support messages, recovery details, identity verification, deletion or correction requests, and staff notes needed to answer you and keep required course, certificate, payment, security, or audit records.
Operations and security logs
Website and backend request metadata, app version, staff audit actions, rate-limit signals, hashed IP metadata, and PII-safe diagnostics used to run and protect the service.

How we use data

  • Provide course access, progress, quizzes, practice, and the final exam.
  • Verify purchase and restore status for paid access.
  • Handle certificate requests, mailing, recovery, and status updates.

  • Respond to support, recovery, privacy, and deletion requests.
  • Protect the service with authentication, authorization, rate limiting, audits, and diagnostics.

Service providers

These categories of providers help us operate 5Drive. They process information only as needed for the services below.

  • Cloud hosting for the website and API
  • Purchase validation for in-app purchase verification and entitlements
  • Apple App Store and Google Play for distribution and purchases
  • Push notification delivery for course, certificate, and account messages
  • Video hosting for embedded lesson videos when a learner plays a video

Other notices

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, website, support process, certificate workflow, or providers change. When we do, we update this page and give notice when the law requires it.

Website, cookies, and device signals

The website and backend may process request metadata and standard browser or device information for hosting, security, diagnostics, and abuse prevention. 5Drive does not sell personal information or share it for cross-app advertising. The app does not use an advertising SDK, IDFA/ATT flow, precise location, contacts, photos library access, or a product analytics SDK. Browser cookie controls and do-not-track signals vary by browser and platform.

Children under 13

5Drive Driver's Ed is not intended for children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child under 13 provided personal information, email support to request review or deletion. We may need to verify identity, and some retention exceptions can still apply.

External links and embedded content

The app or website may link to third-party sites, app stores, email tools, or embedded lesson videos. Those services have their own privacy practices. For example, the video host may process playback data when a video is played, and Apple or Google handle store purchases under their policies.

When we share information

5Drive does not sell personal information or share it for marketing. We use service providers only to operate the product: host data, verify purchases, send notifications, support certificates, and protect the service. Information may also be disclosed when required for legal, regulatory, security, audit, fraud-prevention, payment, certificate, or business-transfer reasons.

Security and how long we keep data

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and operational safeguards. No system is perfectly secure. We keep information as long as reasonably needed to provide the course, support recovery, verify purchases, fulfill certificates, maintain required records, resolve disputes, protect the service, and meet legal, regulatory, payment, security, or audit needs.

Aggregated or deidentified information

We may use aggregated or deidentified information to understand course usage, improve reliability, and operate the service. When information is treated as deidentified, it should not reasonably identify a specific learner or household.

Access, correction, deletion, and appeals

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of certain personal information. Those rights can be limited by identity verification, course or certificate records, payment records, security needs, legal requirements, or other permitted exceptions. If you disagree with a privacy-request decision, reply to the support email and ask for another review.

Your choices and data deletion

Learners or parents can request access, correction, a copy/export, or deletion by emailing support@5drivedriversed.com. Use the subject line 5Drive data deletion request when you want deletion. We may need to verify identity before changing or releasing account or certificate records.

Some records may be retained for course completion, certificate fulfillment, payment, fraud prevention, security, legal, regulatory, or audit reasons. Deletion may mean removing, anonymizing, or disabling records that are not needed for those purposes.

Step-by-step request instructions live on the Support data deletion section.
